Cardboard Reality Farm

Feed the soil & let the soil feed the plants.

On our farm we believe in low impact sustainable agriculture that feeds the soil, rather than depletes it. (We are particularly inspired by the writings and ideas of Masanobu Fukuoka & Ruth Stout). Our market garden uses no-till permaculture principles to grow produce that is as beautiful as it is delicious. We focus on cultivating colourful heirloom varieties that differ from what is available at most grocery stores. Our aim is to provide artful healthy, pesticide free produce, and to make it available in season to members of our community.

Want to know more about the farm? Want to join us as a volunteer? Get in touch through the contact page, or visit out profile on WWOOF Canada (Worldwide Workers on Organic Farms). We’re always happy to connect with like minded individuals who are passionate about moving towards a more sustainable food system.

Our farm’s next big project is covering our 1/8 of an acre market garden in a deep mulch of wood chips! We’ll either be sustainably harvesting trees on our farm and shredding whole branch material on site, or we’d love to work with tree fellers or landscapers who have steady dump trucks full of woodchips that need a home. If you have insight into moving this project forward please contact us! Barter exchanges welcome!

You can support our farm by visiting us at our art & farm shop located at 83 King St. West in Cobourg, Ontario. Our shop is open 12 pm – 7 pm Wednesday to Sunday.
